4 of the Best Blenders for Smoothies
We start off this list with a blender that has achieved the top marks in almost every area that is worth looking at when it comes to evaluating the performance of smoothie blenders.
The Vitamix 5200 may be expensive but in my opinion, this is probably the best smoothie blender on the planet right now and there are several aspects of this that point to this.
Firstly, it is a pretty big machine and this means that it resembles an industrial powerhouse rather than a machine that is merely used to make smoothies in the kitchen. This size can be advantageous in many ways and it certainly indicates a high-end machine.
Of course, you’re looking at a massive capacity that will be perfect for those that make large batches of foods or have large families to feed. The material is top-notch as well and this is bound to boost the durability of this product. As a matter of fact, you can see the aura about this blender as soon as you take it out of the packaging and it will definitely grab a lot of attention on the kitchen counter.
In terms of the materials used to build this, you can expect the very best due to the high price tag and the Vitamix 5200 certainly delivers in all of these areas.
However, perhaps the most important aspect is that of performance and once again, you shouldn’t expect anything less than outstanding marks in this category as well.
A lot of blenders struggle with this aspect and oftentimes, you’re left with chunky bits at the bottom of the smoothies. If this has ever happened to you then I’m sure you didn’t appreciate the ability of your smoothie blender. Truth be told, some machines even struggle with basic ingredients like Kale. However, the Vitamix 5200 is bound to satisfy the highest of expectations because it is extremely powerful and the speed of the blades is sufficient to pulverize through the toughest of ingredients in the most efficient manner. These aspects will combine to ensure a very smooth blending experience and one that will lead to extremely soft and smooth results. The power and accuracy of the blades will even take care of the tiniest of seeds and this means you won’t be disappointed with the quality of your smoothie.
Other than these features, we also get lots of different speed settings and these can be controlled in the middle of the blending process. Furthermore, speed can lead to the production of heat. As a consequence, this can utilize cold ingredients to produce a very hot final result. This means that you can utilize this machine to make the most perfect hot soup.
All of these factors indicate that this is a high-end machine that is very versatile. While it is quite expensive, in my opinion, it is worth every penny and the value for money is excellent in the long run.
2. Vitamix 1782 Turboblend
Just coming in behind the 5200 is the Vitamix 1782. This is another high-end machine that is associated with a high price but the excellent performance and superb overall ratings.
While we found this machine to be excellent, we’ve also had a lot of past and current users of this machine share their experiences with this and they’ve all rated this machine as being superb.
If you look into this blender in detail, you’ll also notice that it resembles an industrial blender that prioritizes performance. This means that it is built like a brick and is a heavy-duty blender. It is also quite big in size and thus, will be associated with a large capacity. Just like the Vitamix 5200, you can expect this product to create large batches at one time.
The power and speed of this machine are very similar to that of the Vitamix 5200 and it certainly performs brilliantly well. It will be capable of pulverizing the smallest of ingredients to lead to a smooth consistency. Furthermore, you will also have the ability to make hot soups and frozen desserts with this machine as well.
The only real flaw is that there are only two-speed settings within this machine. While this can be a drawback, the speed will still be extremely high and the machine, in general, is a massive powerhouse.
It is quite pricey and it might take you a little bit of time to take the plunge but you’ll find that at the end of the day, it might be worth spending that extra cash if you can afford to. This is because I believe it will be worth it in the long run.
If you’ve decided on buying this machine or the Vitamix 5200 then it might be worth checking out refurbished versions to save a little bit of money. At the end of the day, both of these blenders are superb and what makes them even better is the fact that they come with long warranty periods.
3. Nutri Ninja BL682
The Nutri Ninja BL682 is probably of the best blending systems around. As a consequence of this, it can definitely be considered the best blender for smoothies within this particular price range.
It is a fairly smart machine that utilizes the latest technology and the latest features. First of all, you’re looking at multiple attachments that include an extra-large pitcher. This will allow you to make extremely large batches to feed a very large family.
This system also utilizes something called Auto-iQ technology and this will allow you to start blending straight away with one touch of a button. TO elaborate on this a little bit more, this system basically comes with five different settings that will allow you to make all kinds of different things. These will include sauces, purees, smoothies, and frozen drinks. Then all you have to do is to press one button and the blender will make that particular thing for you. This will include the most optimum time taken to make that particular thing.
This system and technology can be highly advantageous for some people and it’ll certainly make this blender one of the easiest to use. A lot of times, the latest technology seems very impressive due to clever marketing tactics but the real usefulness is often overstated. However, there is a lot of conveniences associated with this Auto-iQ technology and it certainly leads to impressively convenient results.
In terms of the performance, the BL682 is quite excellent as well. The motor is powerful and can lead to rotations that are sufficient to tear up small and tough ingredients. This means that making smoothies that are smooth and consistent will be a breeze.
There are all kinds of extra attachments included as well. This includes an extra-large pitcher for smoothies and a slightly smaller but a large enough food processor pitcher as well. Furthermore, there are also drink and seal cup attachments included too. These are bound to be highly convenient if you’re looking for a top-performing machine that is versatile in every way.
The build quality will be excellent as well so you’re looking at probably the best smoothie blender within this particular price range. As a result of the overall qualities that we can easily see with this machine, we can conclude that this will provide a terrific value for money as well.
4. Oster VERSA Professional
You can spend a lot of money on a Vitamix 5200 because this is probably the best smoothie blender. However, this is associated with a high price tag and one that may not be affordable for quite a few of us.
This means that you need to hunt for an affordable machine that provides a great value for money and is also associated with great performance and overall quality.
The product that satisfies these requirements is the Oster VERSA and this will cost you just over 150 bucks, a price tag that is probably reasonable for most of us.
While it’s not quite a Vitamix, it still performs close to the ability of the Vitamix and the price tag can certainly lead to a good price to performance value.
Whether you want a device for making green smoothies or for soup, the VERSA does it all to perfection. The incredibly powerful 1400-watt motor combines with the stainless-steel blade to effortlessly blend through anything you throw at it.
With the blade spinning at over 250 MPH, you get extremely high performance at a fraction of the price of the Vitamix. There are 3 different settings to choose from, depending on whether you want it for smoothies, dips or soups.
Simply choose your preferred setting and hit the start button. The blender will automatically stop once it’s fully complete. On top of that, there is a pulse button that allows you to control the consistency, along with the speed dial that lets you easily adjust the speed.
What we liked best about this blender is the convenience it offers. It’s extremely versatile and replaced most of our kitchen appliances. Once you get this, you will no longer need an ice chopper, food processor, or even a handheld mixer. It just frees up so much space on your kitchen countertop.
Now, in terms of design, the Oster VERSA looks stylish in black color and has a sturdy base to help prevent any unnecessary movement. Metal has been used to construct the 2 connecting pieces, which makes it the best blender in terms of durability, and one that will be sure to last you a long time.
The included 64-ounce BPA Tritan plastic jar has a large capacity yet low profile and comes with a secure-fitting lid to avoid making messes.
We also liked the included tamper, as it allows you to easily move difficult-to-process ingredients down into the blade for thorough blending.
We tried blending spinach and other vegetables to make green smoothies and it performed brilliantly. The leaves were completely pulverized so the nutrients stayed intact.
While the results weren’t quite as good as the expensive Vitamix or Blendtec blenders, this machine isn’t too far behind especially when you take the price into consideration. Perhaps the main difference was the time taken, as we felt the VERSA took about 20-30 seconds longer. In addition to this, the larger and tougher ingredients probably don’t blend as well either. However, in our opinion, that’s reasonable considering you’re saving roughly $200.
So, to recap, if you want the best blender for smoothies, but don’t want to spend $400 or more, the Oster VERSA will probably be the perfect option for you.
The Best Smoothie Blender for a Cheap Price
1. Nutri Ninja Pro BL450
The Nutri Ninja is one impressive machine especially when you consider how much it will cost.
Its 900-watt motor base is incredibly powerful and makes consistent smoothies in no time. We literally had no chunks when we tested it out. It blends very smoothly and evenly, and best of all, you still get all of the essential nutrients in your drinks.
In our opinion, it is far more powerful and offers much better performance than the more expensive Magic Bullet that also features on this list.
We also tried a huge range of different foods, including fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts. Ice was crushed very easily and frozen milkshakes we made turned out to be absolutely delicious.
For convenience, you get an 18 oz. and a 24 oz. personal to-go cup as well as 2 sip and seal lids. So, whether you have started going to the Gym recently or just want a delicious smoothie for lunch, you have all of the tools to get started.
Cleaning is extremely easy and requires little to no effort. The parts are BPA free and safe to use in the dishwasher. Simply put them on the top rack of the dishwasher and you’re done.

The machine itself is very sturdy as well so should last you a long time. Just make sure to take care of it.
The included recipe book is a nice addition. It comes with 30 interesting recipes to give you some ideas and help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
We would highly recommend the Nutri Ninja. It is an absolute bargain and definitely the best blender for green smoothies under $80.
2. The Magic Bullet Nutri Bullet 12-Piece Set
The Nutri Bullet is not cheap at $80 but it’s obviously a very popular kitchen appliance.
With a 600-watt motor, it’s not quite as powerful as the Nutri Ninja. However, combined with the high-torque power base and the patented extractor blades, it effectively pulverizes anything you throw at it.
At the same time, it’s still very portable, meaning it can easily stay on your kitchen counter without taking up too much space.
It’s very easy to use, and with the push of a button, you can make delicious smoothies and protein shakes with an evenly smooth texture. More importantly, when using fruits and vegetables, it efficiently extracts all of the nutrients that are normally lost with a traditional juicer.
It’s lightning fast as well. In fact, it took us about 3 minutes to make a smoothie and clean up everything. The actual blending only took about 30 seconds, which is crazy. Using frozen fruit is not a problem and in fact, we found the smoothies to taste much better when they were made really cold.
Most parts are dishwasher safe as well, so the whole process requires very little effort on your part. You could easily use this blender for smoothies on a daily basis and not feel any hassle at all.
If you have recently started a weight loss diet or just want to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the Nutri Bullet is an excellent appliance and comes with a very big name.
While we prefer the Nutri Ninja, there’s no denying that the Nutri Bullet is one of the best devices at this price.
Just in case you were wondering, this 12-piece kit includes the following:
– A high-torque power base,
– An extractor blade
– A milling blade
– A tall cup
– 2x short cups
– A handled lip ring
– A regular lip ring

3. Oster Reverse Crush
The Oster Reverse is the best smoothie blender within this price range and certainly looks the part. It’s stylish and features an all-metal drive for increased durability.
With a 600-watt motor and dual direction blade technology, it’s reasonably powerful and can handle frozen fruit and ice cubes with ease. The reversing motor also helps to draw food and ice down to ensure more consistent and smoother blending.

Simply choose the desired setting and the blender will automatically shut off once it’s done. From frozen drinks and smoothies, to dips and sauces, the Oster Reverse can handle it all without breaking a sweat. It’s just so versatile, which is very impressive at this price.
Both the 6-cup glass pitcher and the lid are completely dishwasher safe, so cleaning is super easy and requires almost no effort at all.
Making a fresh smoothie takes less than 30 seconds, and tastes absolutely delicious.
Overall, we would highly recommend the Oster Reverse if you want an affordable product that makes delicious smoothies. It is arguably the best blender out there for smoothies within the $60 price point.
4. Ninja Master QB900B
Priced at just under $32, the Ninja Master QB900B is the cheapest product on this list.
Saying that, it’s still quite a powerful machine and is sure to stake a permanent spot on your kitchen countertop.
Thanks to the interchangeable 400-watt power pod, you can easily and quickly switch between the 16oz chopper bowl and the 48-oz pitcher.
In addition, the use of quad blade technology means this Ninja Master can easily handle anything you throw at it. From drips and smoothies to crushing ice, it is a very versatile kitchen gadget. It can also take frozen fruits and blend them into delicious smoothies.
There is a one-touch pulsing button if you like to have greater control over the final results. We found it to be quite consistent throughout.
The Ninja Master seems to be well built and sturdy but there is only a 1-year warranty. At this price though, we can hardly complain.
Overall, this is a very convenient and versatile personal blender. If you love fresh delicious smoothies with all the nutrients intact, this is an affordable way to enjoy them regularly.
While it is going to perform quite well, it definitely won’t be as powerful as some of the more expensive products and this is an obvious thing to mention. Despite this, the overall characteristics of this blender seem to indicate that it will provide a decent value for money.
