Apple-logo It’s no big surprise when companies like Apple begin to invest in bringing content to the internet. Apple plans on providing Video Storage on the internet, whether that entails a service much like YouTube or not is unclear.

One of the bigger ideas is that iTunes will have the ability to store and stream films and other video content from filmmakers and video producers. You would be able to view this content from various devices (I’d assume Apple-only devices) at your own leisure.

We’ve been experimenting with flexible electronics for years now (with products such as e-Paper), but never anything with a decent amount of power, storage, or durability. A Tokyo University, however, recently announced their development of a type of flexible organic storage.

Comprised of completely organic materials, this new form of storage uses floating-gate transistors for memory retention, just like traditional flash storage devices. If its one-day retention limitation can be exceeded, this new technology could open up huge doors in our path to mobility – a few of which CNET’s David Rosenberg outlines briefly:

Seagate today announced the Momentus Thin, the world’s thinnest 2.5 inch hard disk drive for ultra-portables, entry-level laptops and high-end netbooks. Its total height is 7mm, which is tiny considering the amount of space that is available on it (250 GB and 160 GB).

The main advantage that the drive has over SSDs and 1.8 inch drives is that it delivers notebook performance without taking up space or costing more to the consumer. This means that netbooks will be able to have a high performance hard disk without the additional cost or possibility of it draining power more rapidly than usual.

The Momentus Thin is not available to buy as of yet, nor have Seagate announced a release date for it. But it’s on their website for complete viewing pleasure.
