Today, a relatively new company named Light Blue Optics released their first product – and what a product it is! Over the past three years, the company has been raising funds and working hard on a new series of miniature laser projection systems. The device, capable of projecting a 10” image onto any flat surface, outputs content at WVGA resolution due to the use of lasers, rather than LEDs in its projection engine. In addition to the impressive projector, the device runs Adobe Flash Lite 3.1, sports a 2GB internal flash drive, and can project for two hours before requiring a recharge. By using Flash Lite, they’ve left their platform wide open so that developers can quickly and easily create applications for any use. For wireless internet connectivity and file transferring, both Bluetooth and WiFi radios are included within the device. At this time, not much else has been mentioned regarding the device, but they did provide some interesting theoretical usage images on their website, as well as a video simulation of the device in action: This device could have some very interesting and useful applications. We’ll keep an eye on it and see if anything else is announced when the device is showcased in a few days at CES 2010. More info: [Light Blue Optics] |
